Are you dreaming of a wedding that perfectly blends elegance, simplicity, and the timeless charm of Nordic aesthetics? Look no further as we embark on a journey through interior design to unveil the most captivating ideas that will inspire your Nordic wedding.

A wedding is a magical celebration of love, and for those who appreciate the beauty of Nordic aesthetics, creating a wedding inspired by Scandinavian interior design can transport guests to a world of elegance, simplicity, and natural charm.
In this article, we will explore a myriad of inspiring interior design ideas to help you plan and execute a Nordic-inspired wedding that is truly unforgettable.

Minimalistic Elegance

Nordic design is renowned for its minimalistic approach, emphasizing clean lines, neutral color palettes, and uncluttered spaces. Incorporating these elements into your wedding decor will create an ambiance of timeless elegance.
Opt for simple yet sophisticated table settings featuring crisp white linens, modern dinnerware, and minimalist glassware. Accentuate the tables with natural elements like pinecones, sprigs of evergreen, or delicate wildflowers to add a touch of organic beauty.

Cozy Textures

Nordic design embraces cozy textures that evoke a sense of warmth and comfort. To infuse this element into your wedding, consider using plush faux fur throws on chairs or benches, creating inviting seating areas where guests can relax and enjoy the festivities.

Enhance the romantic atmosphere with soft candlelight, using wood, brass, or glass candle holders to complement the overall Nordic aesthetic. Incorporate knitted accents, such as chunky blankets or cushion covers, for an extra dose of tactile charm.

Natural Elements

One of the hallmarks of Nordic design is the integration of nature-inspired elements. For your wedding, incorporate organic materials like wood, stone, and leather to create an earthy, rustic feel. Adorn the wedding venue with branches of birch or eucalyptus, adding a touch of greenery to the space.
Use wooden slabs as table centerpieces, showcasing beautifully arranged floral displays or delicate tea light candles. Bring the outdoors inside with potted plants and moss accents, creating a serene and authentic Nordic atmosphere.

Soft Color Palette

Nordic design often features a soft, soothing color palette reminiscent of the region’s natural landscapes. Incorporate hues of white, cream, gray, and pale pastels into your wedding decor to create a serene and harmonious ambiance.
These subtle tones complement the minimalist aesthetic and allow other design elements to shine. Consider incorporating small pops of color with delicate flowers or tableware to add visual interest and depth to the overall design.

Scandinavian-inspired Tablescapes

A Nordic wedding wouldn’t be complete without exquisite tablescapes embodying Scandinavian design’s essence. Opt for wooden or marble table surfaces paired with sleek, modern chairs.

Layer the table with crisp white linens and minimalist tableware, such as matte ceramic plates and brushed metallic cutlery. Add a touch of elegance with crystal glassware or delicate stemless wine glasses. Complete the look with minimalist floral arrangements featuring delicate blooms and greenery nestled in sleek, modern vases.

Lighting and Atmosphere

Lighting is crucial in creating the perfect ambiance for a Nordic wedding. Incorporate soft, warm lighting through fairy lights draped over the ceiling or wrapped around pillars.
Opt for delicate pendant lights or Scandinavian-inspired chandeliers that emit a soft, diffused glow. Enhance the cozy atmosphere by strategically placing floor or table lamps, creating pockets of warm light throughout the venue. Experiment with different light intensities to achieve a romantic and intimate ambiance.

Nordic-Inspired Ceremony Space

Set the tone for your Nordic wedding by creating a captivating ceremony space. Choose a venue with natural surroundings, such as a picturesque forest, a serene lakeside, or a cozy winter lodge.
Incorporate wooden arches adorned with ethereal drapes or garlands of fresh flowers and greenery. Complete the look with cozy seating options, such as rustic wooden benches or fur-covered chairs, providing your guests with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

Hygge-Inspired Lounge Areas

Embrace the Danish concept of “hygge” by creating cozy lounge areas for your guests to relax and enjoy the celebration. Arrange plush sofas, armchairs, and oversized floor cushions in warm and earthy tones, adorned with soft blankets and cushions.
Include a rustic wooden coffee table with candles and trays of Scandinavian treats like cinnamon buns or gingerbread cookies. This cozy space will provide a retreat for guests to unwind and connect in a relaxed and intimate setting.

]]>
A wedding party is the most memorable day of your life and making sure that it’s all that you’ve imagined it to be, is one of the most important things you could do. Paying for such an event, however, is always more challenging than you’ve imagined.

One of the ways to go is to use a credit card to pay for the more expensive parts of the event and to pay off the whole sum over the agreed-upon time. It lightens the load somewhat and gives a couple more wiggle room during the first couple of years of their married life.

When Is It Reasonable to Do So?

It can be a good idea to pay for the wedding or parts of it via a credit card. The first thing to do is to inquire about what kind of credit cards are there and how they compare to one another. Sites such as Basta Kreditkort can be a good source of information on those sorts of issues.

It’s also useful to evaluate your finances and think about how much you can pay off at once. The best source of action is never to accumulate more credit card debt than you can pay off right away.

Getting an Extended Period

The most important feature of paying by a credit card such as those issued by Komplett Mastercard, and this goes for weddings and other expenses equally are in the fact that you’re getting an extended period in which to pay off the expense.

For the most part, this is about 12 to 18 months of additional time without adding any interest to the amount you have to pay. It’s possible to get more but that comes with interest.

Benefits for Specific Purchase

Some cards like those from Bank Norwegian Visa, offer a variety of different cashback programs depending on what type of purchase you’re making. It’s worth your while to investigate different programs and find those that you may use when purchasing items needed for a wedding.

Credit card companies go into deals with a variety of different businesses such as jewelers, catering companies, and venue management businesses. All of these might be useful when organizing a wedding and you may end up with a cashback deal.

There’s No Need to Borrow Too Much

When borrowing to pay for a wedding, chances are that you’ll borrow too much. That’s the case when taking out a small loan or when borrowing from a friend. This usually means you’ll have to pay all that you’ve borrowed and with banks, you’ll need to consider the interest as well.

When it comes to paying with a credit card you only get to pay what you’ve actually spent and that’s the only amount you need to pay off in the next year. It saves you the trouble of guessing what the amount will be and being wrong in the process.

The Credit Score

Using a credit card to make such a large purchase can affect your overall credit score and make it appear worse than it actually is. That’s something to consider before making a call. It’s especially important if you plan to make other long-term financial decisions as newlyweds.

There are numerous resources online that can show you how to calculate your credit score and that’s something that a young couple should do every once in a while in order to know where they stand financially. If you pay off the wedding in the agreed-upon time, the score won’t be affected that much.

Additional Fees

It’s also important to consider if there are any fees that you may end up paying in the long run. You’ll need to be aware of these and take them into account when choosing which card to use and should you use one in the first place.

For instance, some cards have an annual fee. If the timeline in which to pay off the wedding is longer than 12 months, you’ll also have to cover this fee. That may not be much but you don’t want it to come as a surprise either.

Unforeseen Expenses

Organizing a wedding is not a small affair and chances are that things may come up and ruin your plans regardless of how carefully you’ve made them. Sometimes this also means additional expenses may come up and push you over the budget you’ve planned for. This may be a good time to use the credit card to cover the additional expense.

It’s important that you have a strict budget and only use this option when you need to go over it. Try not to go over the 12-month period within which there is no interest rate or the rates are as low as they can be. That way you’re only covering for the unforeseen expense and paying it in installments.

Should You Do It?

This is the question all young couples should answer for themselves. The best way to manage using credit cards is never to borrow more than you could pay off at once. That way you’re not in debt, but only using the benefit of paying for something in installments and over a long time.

It’s also important to consider how big of a deal a wedding is for a couple. You want to go into it without too much stress and know that the financial issues will be sorted out over time and at your own pace. This will make the whole planning process that much easier.

Organizing a wedding is once in a lifetime effort and one that’s beyond the abilities of a couple getting married. The first thing to figure out therefore is to pick the vendors that you need to hire in order to make sure that the wedding runs smoothly.

All of these vendors can be found at a range of prices and having all of them doesn’t have to break the bank on its own. There are of course weddings that can do without them and it’s up to the couple to make these decisions based on their circumstances.

Photographer

The first professional to hire would be a photographer to make a record of the event and to capture those precious memories for you. It’s best to leave this job to a professional since their work will simply be better than anything you could do on your own.

Most couples decide to hire a professional photographer and the only exceptions are the ones that have a photographer as a guest. Have in mind that hiring the services of a photographer can cover a lot of different services and that you need to agree on the details.

Venue

The venue will set the tone and be the scene for the wedding itself and the photographs you’re going to take. Getting a venue run by professionals is therefore the best way to go since it means you’ll get the background you’ve hoped for and there’s someone to deal with the behind the scene work of running the wedding.

There are venues out there that are sought after by couples reserving a spot for months if not years. If one of such venues is on your mind as well, you should consider the waiting period and implement it in your plans.

Wedding Planner

Organizing such a complex event as a wedding can be challenging for a person doing it for the first time. That’s why there are wedding planners with experience and a team that will stay on top of everything that needs to be done for the event to go without a glitch.

It’s one of the costlier vendors you’ll need to pay for, but it’s worth it since without a wedding planner many other things can go wrong, and therefore the additional costs can get too high.

Hair and Makeup

A wedding is one of the biggest events in your life if not the biggest one and you want to make sure that your hair and make-up are perfect. It’s best to leave that to the experts with experience. They will also make sure that your makeup works with the lighting and the venue you’ve chosen.

Most couples end up paying for hair and make-up artists since that’s the best way to make sure that your appearance will suit the event and that you have one less thing to worry about on such a stressful day.

Catering Service

A catering service is one of the most commonly used vendors when it comes to planning weddings. Using their services makes the whole event that much easier and you can relax and focus on other matters while the food is taken care of.

Using a catering service also makes the whole event less costly compared to the alternatives. It gives you a wide selection of menus that can accommodate the needs of most if not all of your guests and for the most part, gives you enough time to prepare for unforeseen changes.

A Cake Baker

A wedding cake plays a big role in the ceremony and it’s therefore important that it, too, fits the theme and overall aesthetic of the event. About 70 percent of all couples choose to hire a professional to make them a wedding cake and there’s a reason why that’s the case.

A cake baker will be able to work closely with others working on the aesthetic of the event, such as a florist, and a venue provider. That way the cake becomes an integral if not the central part of the event in coordination with all the others.

Officiant

You can’t legally marry unless there’s an officiant in the wedding so, their role is rather crucial to the whole event.  The first step is to decide between a religious and secular ceremony and choose the officiant based on that. In some cases, a friend of a couple can become an officiant for the wedding ceremony and therefore make the ceremony more memorable.

The ceremony performed by the officiant can be changed and modeled so that it feels more personal, and suited to the personal story of a couple getting married. The couple can also be involved in creating the ceremony.

Jeweler

In the end, you’ll need a jeweler to design your wedding bands. This is probably the most important piece of jewelry you’ll ever have and you need to make sure that a professional will create the bands that present your relationship and your future marriage. It’s no small task and it’s best done with input from the couple.

It’s also one of the more expensive vendors you’ll have to pay, but one that you can’t organize a wedding without. A wedding is a one-time event and it’s worth it.

These vendors are just a basis for organizing a wedding and there’s a chance you may need a few more depending on how big an event you plan on.

According to the most recent research, females, during the first date, most often ask questions just to keep the conversation going. While males do the same when they have nothing more to say. It, however, could help recognize even carefully hidden character traits and turn the rendezvous into an exciting discussion. It’s a pity – so many singles underestimate this.

Moreover: pretty often, people are afraid to ask too many questions. Since it would make a job interview from a romantic chat. Well, the standard ones, such as “Where do you work?” or “Where were you born?” – are a false strategy for sure. Your goal is to be extraordinary and, probably, a bit daring. But how to do this? When you meet Russian women or even your local beauties – the right words sort of fly away, out of your head. In this regard, the alternative options suggested by our experts can be beneficial. So what are you waiting for? Read them all!

What are your plans for next week?

By asking this question, you can find out not only about the hobbies of your potential girlfriend, that is also good. In addition, the answer on it makes clear how she prefers to spend her free time. As well as what her daily routine consists of and what she pays special attention to.

What have you always wanted to try out but didn’t have a chance yet?

The answer to the question can be a real wake-up call. Of course, some ladies have fascinating dreams. They want to make a parachute jump or travel throughout Africa. But others, unfortunately, do not have any desires and aspirations at all. Anyway, what your conversationalist says helps to realize how compatible in the long run you two are.

Do you have something to be proud of?

The reaction to this question gives an idea of what the girl you are fond of values. On the other hand, if she says too many things in her own honor – then most likely, your lady is overly self-absorbed. Do you sincerely think you could deal with such constant self-praising every day?

What do you like and hate about dating?

At first glance, this question seems too vague. However, in addition to the answers that many usually expect – some can better explain their intentions towards the search. For example, someone just loves to visit new places and make new acquaintances. While another one is troubled by the thought that it takes so much time and energy to finally find the special one. The difference in attitudes is apparent, isn’t it?

Do you have a day you want to live over again?

In this case, your conversationalist will talk about her priorities and values, as well as her interests. Since it can not only be something unusual, like volunteering in Nepal. But also the day of the first meeting with her best friend or the craziest party in high school.

Which stereotype about men (women) do you hate most of all?

It gives an idea not only about the mindset of your potential girlfriend. But also helps to figure out the possible scenarios according to which she acts in a relationship. Allow yourself to compare everything your lady says to your beliefs. For example, if she finds that a man is not obliged to be a breadwinner in the family and doesn’t mind working equally. While you don’t like this scenario and want your future wife to stay home for you and your kids. Consider it before asking this girl out once again. Too different attitudes are certainly not encouraging.

The post Strange and sweet wedding traditions of different countries appeared first on President.

]]>
The path to a happy marriage is never easy, and the wedding tradition seems to emphasize this – in different countries, a couple in love wait for their strange customs. In Austria, for example, the bride wakes up to the sound of gunfire, and in China, she cries a month before the ceremony. In the midst of the wedding season, we gathered the most interesting beliefs so that you would be prepared for anything, both as a guest and as a bride.

China

The wedding for the Tujia people of China’s ethnic group begins with tears: one month before the ceremony, the bride is expected to cry, showing thanks to her parents and her reluctance to leave the house. Later, she is joined by sisters, aunts, grandmothers and mother. On a full series of «cry of the bride» performed in the XVII century, now it is more an occasion to gather the whole family – without any tears.

Japan

In the Country of the Rising Sun over 400 years have been observed one of the oldest wedding traditions – «San-san kudo». Instead of exchanging vows, the groom, the bride and their parents drink three sake cups of three different sizes: the first for the union of families, and the second and third for the atmosphere of love in a house free of hatred and ignorance.

Tunis

The celebration of the wedding in Tunis begins six days before the ceremony itself. A special role in the preparation is played by the custom of decorating the bride’s hands and legs with henna – drawings in the form of butterflies and flowers and intricate patterns usually applied by a relative.

India

The night before the wedding, married girlfriends gather at the bride’s house to put a turmeric paste on her. It is believed that its bright yellow colour will bring good luck to the future family, and the composition of the useful mixture will make the skin of the woman smooth and radiant. And if you can’t believe the first statement, then you can’t argue with the second one: the turmeric actually calms the inflammation, increases the elasticity of the skin and equalizes the tone.

Sweden

It is customary here to place a coin in the shoe of the bride: in one, given by the father – made of gold, in the other – silver, given by the mother. And every time the bride leaves the table, all the girls at the wedding can steal the groom’s kiss. Note that these are Swedes who adhere to the principle of equality and gender neutrality. So whenever the groom leaves the room, gentlemen can also kiss the bride.

Austria

Austrian custom dictates that the bride wakes up on the day of the ceremony as early as possible. Many families in Salzkammergut, Tyrol and Styria still follow an ancient tradition and, as their ancestors did, come to the girl’s house early in the morning to wake her with the sounds of gunfire and fireworks – they believe that this noise will ward off evil spirits.

Brazil

Brazilian brides primarily take care of single girlfriends: their names are written on the lining of a wedding dress, believing that it will help girls find love as soon as possible. Interestingly, the Greeks have a similar tradition, but they have a list of singles decorating the soles of the bride’s shoes.

Venezuela

The groom must give permission for the marriage to the godfather, otherwise the spouses will not be happy. At a wedding party, newlyweds can sneak out before the event is over. And it’s considered good luck for a guest to catch a couple when they try to escape.
